  • For the third consecutive year, Jean-Baptiste Milien, Partner and Head of the Rennes-Grand Ouest office, had the pleasure on 2 December of giving an introductory lecture on Industrial Property to third-year students in the Engineering and Business Science program of ENSTA in Brest.

    This sharing of views highlighted the importance of Industrial Property in the engineering & management field, where innovation plays a key role in the development of technological and entrepreneurial projects and its protection a major lever in a company’s strategy.

    We would like to thank ENSTA, Khalil Assala, and Maryline Besnard for the organization and hospitality and wish all the best for the future to the ISE 2026 class.

  • Jean-Baptiste Milien (Germain Maureau), Matteo Bernard (France Renouvelables) and Maxime Bellorge (Akrocean) had the privilege of leading the workshop “Opportunities and competition from Asia for offshore wind power” at the Ocean BtoB organised by the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique.

    Alongside players in the industry, we took a cross-sectional look at the EPO report “Offshore wind energy – Patent insight report” on patent dynamics in the offshore wind energy sector in relation to the latest market developments at the Ocean BtoB organised by the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique.

  • Gaël Mancec, IT Lawyer at Germain Maureau, attend the 9th European Cyber Week.

    The European Cyber Week is the leading annual cyber security and cyber defense industry event in Europe. It gathers nearly 6,000 players in research, operational implementation and strategic thinking in the cybersecurity field.

    The event take place from 18 to 21 November 2024 at the Couvent des Jacobins in Rennes.

  • Sea Tech Week is an international event dedicated to marine and maritime science and technology. It attracts every 2 years 1.000 top international experts to Brest, France, representing a wide variety of ocean-related disciplines.

    For this new edition, Ireland is the country of honour with the theme of Maritime safety and security.

    On this occasion, Jean-Baptiste Milien, Head of the Rennes office, Philippe Verriest, Partner at Germain Maureau, in collaboration with Arya Vansiri (Naval Group), Richard Forest (SEAir) and Michel Gurvan (AberActives SAS), will chair a workshopentitled: “Maritime Innovation and Intellectual Property Strategy”.

    The objectives of workshoptable will be to

    • Provide an overview of the patent strategies implemented by various players in different technical fields of the maritime sector;
    • Highlight the specificities of patent law directly related to the marine environment;
    • Propose the first steps of an intellectual property strategy adapted to each technical field/industry related to the maritime sector.

  • Ocean BtoB, the annual business convention around sea technologies open to companies from all maritime fields and the blue economy organised by the Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique was held on 20 February.

    On this occasion, Jean-Baptiste Milien, Head of the Rennes-Grand Ouest office (Germain Maureau), accompanied by Gwennina Croizer (Grand Port Maritime Nantes Saint Nazaire), Maximilien Le Menn ( Bretagne), Didier Arenal and Gaël Labat, (EHM – Efficient Hydrogen Motors), Adrien Chazelas and Frédéric Naudi (Lhyfe), led the workshop entitled “H2 New Port Market”.
