Brexit: consequences on .eu domain names
[23/10/2020] The transition period will officially end on 31 December 2020. As from this date, all British undertakings - whether established in the United Kingdom or in an European Union Member State - as well as British citizens who are not resident of a EU Member State will no longer be eligible to hold an .eu domain name.
Further, EURid will neither allow the reservation of any new .eu domain names nor their transfer to British registrants.
However, .eu domain names may be maintained provided they belong to:
- British citizens residing in a EU Member State, or
- EU citizens (not British) who are residing in the United Kingdom.
Our staff would be happy to advise and assist you to maintain your rights in the Brexit context.
