Starting 1 January 2026, the 2026 version of the 13th edition of the International Classification of Goods and Services (Nice Classification) will come into force. This update applies to all trademark applications and renewals filed on or after that date.

This new version will undergo, in particular, a significant change:

Spectacles (and all parts and accessories thereof: chains, frames, cases, etc.) initially classified in class 9 will be moved to class 10 (medical apparatus and instruments).
