Thus, for European patents granted with effect for Montenegro on or after 1 August 2025:

• If the patent is granted in English (or if an English translation is provided), a Montenegrin translation is no longer required.
• Only the claims must still be translated into Montenegrin.

These new provisions will reduce translation costs for European patents.
