Germain Maureau expands with the appointment of three new partners effective 1st July 2025

Germain Maureau continues its development with the appointment of three new partners as of 1st July 2025: Marie MOTHES, Jean-Baptiste MILIEN, and Matthieu OBJOIS, based in Bordeaux, Rennes, and Lyon respectively.

Marie MOTHES – Trademark Partner – Head of the Bordeaux Office

Marie began her career in 2008 as a lawyer at Schmit-Chrétien before joining Aquinov in Bordeaux, where she practiced IP law for ten years. She joined Germain Maureau in 2020 to open and manage the Bordeaux office.

She is deeply involved in the local innovation ecosystem, working closely with key stakeholders to support businesses and start-ups in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region on intellectual property matters.
Marie will continue to lead the Bordeaux office and contribute actively to the firm’s growth and visibility in the region.

 

Jean-Baptiste MILIEN – Patent Partner – Head of the Rennes Office

Jean-Baptiste began his career in R&D in the nuclear industry with the AREVA Group. He later joined Cabinet Beau de Loménie, where he spent around fifteen years, gaining strong expertise, particularly in oppositions and litigation.

In 2021, he joined Germain Maureau to open and manage the Rennes – Grand Ouest office in 2022.

He will continue to head the Rennes – Grand Ouest office and support its regional growth. He also remains active in the CNCPI, where he serves as Vice-President, promoting the profession, advocating for patent attorneys, and contributing to the CNCPI’s strategic discussions.

 

Matthieu OBJOIS – Patent Partner – Specialist in Artificial Intelligence

Matthieu began his career in 2009 at Cabinet Regimbeau in Paris. He has recognized expertise in computer-implemented inventions, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.
He joined Germain Maureau in 2022, bringing added strength to the firm’s technical capabilities in this area.

Matthieu is also involved in training and education, notably as a lecturer in Intellectual Property Law at the Paris School of Mines. He also serves as a tutor for seminars preparing candidates for the F and M1 exam papers of the European Qualifying Examination and for the European Patent Administration Certificate at the University of Strasbourg.
