Trademark package: adoption of the order of transposition into French law

The order transposing the EU Directive 2015/2436 2015/2436 of 16 December 2015 into French law was adopted by the Council of Ministers on 13 November.

The text was published in the Official Gazette on the same day. So far it only concerns the legislative part.

The regulatory part should be adopted early December and enter into force on 15 December at the latest.

The administrative procedure for invalidity and forfeiture of trademarks will enter into force on 1 April 2020.

On 26 November 2019, Germain & Maureau will host, in collaboration with the law firm Hoffmann, a breakfast meeting on the major changes in trademark law resulting from this reform.
