World IP Day was established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000 to raise awareness of the large public on patents, trademarks, copyrights, etc., and to celebrate creativity and contributions made by creators and innovators across the world.

26 April is the date on which the Convention Establishing the WIPO entered into force in 1970.

This year, the theme of World Intellectual Property Day is “IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future”.
