Madrid System: what’s new?

From 1st February, the Madrid System concerning the international registration of trademarks changes.

Hence, graphic reproductions of international registration will no longer be required, and applications for a sound mark, motion mark or other types of multi-media marks represented in digital format will be authorised.

It should however be noted that some designated Madrid System Members may – under their own domestic laws – still require a graphic representation.
